Brands to look for, which ones to avoid?
Specifications I should be looking at?
Best place in UK or on internet to buy from?
I’m an absolute novice in this area so any help would be appreciated.

Pop along to a local Jessops and see the telescopes in store. Talk to a member of staff about choices and they will advise you..
