I ordered a 10″ dobsonian telescope a few days ago, and was wondering what eyepieces, both brand, type and focal length you would recommend for getting the most out of my telescope?

i want to make one but i think that one i would buy would be more sturdy, i’ve searched for dobsonian telescope bases and nothing but thelescopes comes up, what should i look for? P.S. my telescope’s mirror is 130mm or 5″ but the tube is 6″, are the mounting rinds measured by the size of the mirror or the tube.

i have heard using a hair dryer works but i do not think it will reach down the optical tube down to the mirror. i also don’t have a portable one. will putting plastic wrap over the front of the tube work to reduce the dew? will it affect the image that i see?

I’m going to be building a 12.5″ Dobsonian telescope. For the primary mirror, precision optics, of F5 or better and certified, are roughly $1600. Yet many websites sell Chinese imported mirrors, at prices between $500 and $800. Will the quality of the primary make a huge amount of difference in the finished product, or would investing in a better eyepiece yield the same results?
