Telescope Buying Guide

I have seen wesites on how to build your own dobsonian telescope. I know that the primary mirrors of most dobsonian telescopes have a focal length ranging from 1000mm to 1200mm. But I do not know whether my hand mirror fits into this catagory. I don’t mind having a telescope with a small aperture.

Thanks everyone for answering my last question.What telescope would you recommend for a beginner that is in the city. Ive been looking at some Dobsonian Telescopes and they look within my price range but obviously you guys have more experience and knowledge than me. thanks for reading
also, would i be able to see things like the andromeda galaxy and other more distant bodies with a 6′ or 8′ dobsonian?
