Anthony asked: It’s a DS 2090 telescope, a refractor with 90mm of clear aperture and a focal length of 800mm and the remote is missing so you can’t automatically go to a celestial object. Everything else is there. Also I have never sold or bought anything used so please make some suggestions.

Brack_871 asked: I have a refractor telescope and I am trying to figure outs it focal length. It is an old Zeiss Telescope and I have no literature on it. Here is what I know:
The diameter of the front lens is approximately 100 mm.
The approximate llength of the telescope from lens to the back is about 4 and 1/2 feet.
Anyone out there able to help me with this?

snail asked: is it possible to build your own telescope? the larger the mirror the more light it gathers what about focal length? some advertise for example 10 inch mirror with f 4.5 what does that mean?

David C asked: I have a 12″ Dobsonian telescope with a focal length of 1500mm and an f-stop of 5. And what magnitude is Pluto anyway? No jokes about its being ostricized as a planet please.

Well I really don’t exactly know what telescope I have, I know it’s a Meade telescope, but I don’t know the model. But, anyways, how would I find out the telescope’s focal length? Please I need this to check my eyepiece magnifications.

:3 asked:
A telescope with a 20 cm primary mirror has an f# of 5. What would be the focal length of the eyepiece required to give a magnification of 100? I know there’s an equation, but I don’t know what it is. Thanks in advance.

Aquamarine Blue Beauty asked:
Compare the function of the objective lens of a telescope with the objective of a microscope. In each case, do you want a large focal length or small? Why? Where is your object? Where and what kind of image is formed? Compare the function of the eyepiece in both instruments. Do you want a large focal length or small? Why? Where is your ‘object’? Where and what kind of image is formed?

I have a zhumell perigee 100 Matsukov-Cassgrain. It has an aperture of 4″ and a focal length of 1400mm. I am looking into doing some astrophotography. I have found a Williams adapter eyepiece to fit my nikon coolpix. It has a focal length of 24mm. Is this a good match of eyepiece and telescope?

bigK asked:
so what’s the difference between the objective lens of a microscope and a telescope. for each do you want the object in front or behind each lens. which is a bigger focal length better for, and what kind of image is formed for each?

diente asked:
It is a refracting telescope and has an objective lens of focal length 80 cm, a diameter of 10 cm, and an eyepiece of focal length 5 cm and diameter 1 cm.
