Just like the small telescopes and binocculars regular people can buy, does the Hubble space telescope have a fixed magnification or a zoom? What magnification or range of magifications does it have?

I have a celestron telescope and the magnification is about 95 times. But I was wondering what and where to look at. So far all we’ve seen is some bright white balls (stars). Is that mostley what you see?

How do you determine the magnification of a telescope?

I have a 10 inch F/6.13 Schmidt Cassegrain with a 30 mm eye piece. Also a 16 inch Schmidt Cassegrain 30 mm eye piece. (Was not given the focal length).

I read the Focal Length is in mm, so is 6.13 the mm? How would I figure the focal length of the 16 inch telescope?

If you could please show step by step how you figured the magnification, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Recently I have become interested in the idea of amateur astronomy. How much do I need to spend on a telescope to be able to see anything interesting? What kind of telescope do I need? What strength magnification do I need? How much do I need to spend?

I’m looking into getting a telescope and would like to spend around $300 for something with the ability to compensate for the Earth’s rotation and relatively easy to use. Do I look at focal length, diameter, magnification or everything?
