When is the best time to see planets in late August (20-30th) whilst using a telescope. I live in Southern Scotland, so thanks in advance.

Say if I spent around £250 on a telescope, what sort of things would I be able to see? How much detail? Would it be worth it?

Scott asked:
I ordered the telescope online and should get it within the next few days. It has a object-finding computer system, but I want to know what time at night I should start to look for Saturn and Jupiter. Is there a website that has that kind of stuff?

ABC123 asked:
I have a big interest in astronomy and already own a reflecting telescope but its old, porr quality and peices are missing. So what is a good telescope that I could buy?? I want to view planets and deep sky objects, which would make me thing of a cassegrain, but most suggest a reflecotr.

Sup, Everyone! I’m into astronomy and i wanna buy a really good telescope to see nebulas and planets and stuff, but i’m new to this stuff and don’t know what to buy. I want a really strong one, but something under fifty bucks. I also wanted to ask, how strong is a 100x telescope? What strength would i have to buy to see nebulas and stuff in deep space? I need some help here, guys.

gisburnuk asked: I have been interested in physics since I was 18 and I want to use this knowledge to explore out of the grim atmosphere of earth and into the vast enormity of space.
I use to own a £50 refractor telescope three years ago but I found it very frustrating to use because of the low magnification due to its low aperture lens.
The type of Telescope that I want to purchase would need to have a 6 inch aperture because I prefer to observe galaxies rather than planets.
