The pictures that I have seen look like really colorful dust. But they have pictures of galaxies
First of all, are they real?
Secondly, how do they know where to point the telescope? (Maybe a dumb question)
And Third, how can they take the pictures if the places are so far away???

When a telescope takes pictures of space are the pictures in real color?

So when a telescope takes pictures of different galaxy’s and the they’re all spiral and colorful…is that how they really look up in space or is the color filled in after to show us what they look like? I know when you’re in space they say the stars don’t twinkle and shine the way we see them from earth. Are they visible as they are in pictures?
