What are the advantages of using a space telescope over using a telescope on earth?

Help please! and can you give me a short answer? How can you say you can take better pictures when on space than on earth in a scientific way?

I mean the earth is round but to us it looks flat because we’re sort of at the microscopic level. Anyways couldn’t we see into space by looking through a telescope held parallel (horizontal) to the ground. In considering this question keep in mind that it’s hypothetical so disregard trees, mountains, ect.

Is it because that light has reached us in 10.5 billion years, and we are actually only seeing right in front of us, as apposed to actually seeing a far distance? If so is it not a telescope at all?

Its hard to comprehend wether we are focusing the light created in front of our eye or are we actually looking at something across space?

The telescope is pretty powerful. I can see Saturn real good and I know the space station is a LOT closer than that, I just do not know when and where to look. I live in Central Florida.
