Mommy to Sammy asked: I just got it and cannot get it to see the stars or the moon. It came with a 10mm and a 20mm. I took it on vacation with me and can see other things through it such as the ocean across the street (about 350 yards from where I am staying) and other things, but not the moon or the stars. What mm should I purchase? Can any lens really work, or do I have to go by the name of the telescope? I didn’t know if they were universal. Thanks in advance.

:3 asked:
A telescope with a 20 cm primary mirror has an f# of 5. What would be the focal length of the eyepiece required to give a magnification of 100? I know there’s an equation, but I don’t know what it is. Thanks in advance.

mxtheif asked: I have a 10 inch F/6.13 Schmidt Cassegrain with a 30 mm eye piece. Also a 16 inch Schmidt Cassegrain 30 mm eye piece. (Was not given the focal length).
I read the Focal Length is in mm, so is 6.13 the mm? How would I figure the focal length of the 16 inch telescope?
If you could please show step by step how you figured the magnification, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
