Gary C asked: If I see Saturn right now but I want to see it even CLOSER, what do i need to look for in a reflector telescope? Is magnification solely based on eyepieces or something else?
If I understand correct, the bigger the scope (aperture), the more light it gathers, the clearer the picture. The higher the magnification from certain eyepieces, the less detailed the picture looks? So, the bigger the aperture of the telescope, the smaller the eyepieces I can get in order to see closer and closer and closer?

CLayton asked: An observer is using a telescope to resolve a binary star with a separation of 0.40 arcseconds using a filter which passes light at 5000 A. What is the minimum size telescope needed to resolve the binary?
Steps would be much appreciated.

As asked: I know this is a broad question, but assuming I have around $500 to spend on a telescope and I bought the best one I can get with that money.
How much detail can you see?
Like the planets..nebula, galaxies, star clusters
Would I be able to see Jupiters Great Spot?

Have you already seen a planet in your naked eye without using a telescope? If yes, how did you know it is a planet and what planet is that?

Agnostic asked:
Hello,
I’m a beginner at using a telescope and I’m planning on buying one within the next week. I want to find something fairly cheap (about $100.00 to $200.00). I plan on using it a lot so I don’t want something too cheap, something that will be good for looking at planets. Also, when choosing a telescope I know I have to think about where I will be using it, I will be using it in an suburban area with moderat light and pollution. Please let me know what you think would be a great telescope for me. Thanks!
