What is the best telescope i could buy for under $300-$400?

I am looking for a good quality telescope in the price range of 300-400 dollars. i want to be able to view stars, planets, comets when the chance arises any thing anybody really with a telescope is looking for. I really don’t know what to look for in a telescope as i have only owned one telescope in the past when i was about 9 years old comet hale-bop passed through.

Unfortunately $300-400 isn’t gonna buy you a great telescope. You best bet is to just check out websites, many even ebay or craigslist to get a used one.
