A t-mount requires setting for prime focus, as if the telescope was a huget telephoto lens.

You can also put the camera over the telescope eyepiece using the normal lens, but do this with care (get a 1A or Haze filter for the Nikon lens) and look through the camera to see if you can see things.

This method will only work for things like the moon.

For T-mount you'll need to experiment with "draw tubes" extensions, removing the prism (straight into the back rack and pinon) and experimenting.

I'd strongly suggest you visit an Amateur Astronomy Star Party where they take pictures and see how they do it and get advice from them.

Some telescopes, like the Questar, come with Nikon back mounts for direct mounting, but I'd also get a hands-on look at how that works.</description>
