How can I draw a diagram of the appearances of Venus through a Galilean telescope when it first appears as the morning sun?
What does it look like? Where can I find one?

  1. The Lazy Astronomer Says:

Think of the moon. What does it look like when you can first see it? - A cresent.

The next thing to figure is if it is a monring star, which side of it is the sun on? Thats the side on which you draw the crescent.

Finally - what happens to the image when viewed through a Galilean telescope (referacting telescope)?
